AWEganic gardens is a new micro urban food forest joining the SPIN farm movement (small plot intensive farming) - taking our backyards and street verges to new levels of productivity and abundance using the principles of permaculture.
Led by a local horticultural botanical adventurist and international environmental architect, we grow and nurture a variety of specialised edible tropical fruits, herbs, vegetables and flowers inspired by adopting permaculture principles. We focus on soil regeneration for maximum nutrition and follow a newly developed market model designed to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from food transportation (FOOD MILES) by distributing our produce locally to residents and real food markets by bicycle.
We aim to inspire and act as a platform for people who are interested to learn more about sustainable food production and most importantly re-engage people from our community about the inter-relationship between good food and health. We believe people should experience the joy of harvesting and the freedom of choosing their food directly, on the spot - from plot to pot.
